    World Business Dialogue – Review

Fabio, Benedikt and Dominic spent three days in Cologne for the World Business Dialogue last week from March 13-15. It was an inspirational convention that helped us create new insights. Day 1 was fully packed with panel discussions and keynote speeches. Among others, we were especially impressed by the  talks of Suhas Gopinath who shared his experiences as an entrepreneur starting at the age of fourteen and of Prof. Kenneth P. Morse who spoke about failures, how to overcome them and the art of pitching your idea to a Venture Capitalist.

On day 2 of the convention we had the opportunity to host a Design Thinking workshop to a bunch of interested visitors. After we suggested to take off their ties, an open and inspirational atmosphere emerged.

After three rounds of brainstorming followed by a prototyping session which addressed the subject of trust, the participants were happy to share their prototypes with the others. Thanks to the great work of all participants, we were able to generate new insights on that subject for our own idea.

World Business Dialogue, March 14-15 2012

We’re happy to announce that we’ll be hosting a workshop at the World Business Dialogue. The 15th World Business Dialogue will be in Cologne March 14-15 2012.

The topic of the convention is Checkpoint Consumption – Needs, Duties and the Search of Balance which is obviously very close to our problem statement FOMO (the fear of missing out).

Our workshop will take place at the second day of the congress (program of day 2) and will contain a summary of our method, concept and problem statement in the first half. The second half of our workshop will be built up of a prototyping session, where participants will have the opportunity to become part of Design Thinking culture themselves.

We can’t wait to meet all the participants from various backgrounds such as politics, business, technology and society to test our ideas and benefit from their experiences.

Back in Switzerland – Update 20/02/2012

The Design Thinking Startup team is back in St. Gallen after a week of exciting conferences, talks and meetings in Berlin. Just two hours upon our arrival we pitched our startup at webmontag to introduce ourselves to a group of young entrepreneurs. It was quite a successful evening considering that our schedule became fully packed after the event. With only four days in Berlin we wanted to take every single opportunity to present our Startup and to learn as much as possible from others.

We spent a vast amount of our time in four main hubs for young entrepreneurs in Berlin: the Betahaus, the café Sankt OberholzGründerwerkstatt and Social Impact Labs. We met a lot of promising startups there and had the chance to talk with interesting and inspiring people. We won’t list them all but below you’ll find a list of a few startups we liked a lot.

The trip gave us a huge portion of motivation for the upcoming weeks until we’ll present our final prototype to our investors by the end of march. Knowing that it will be a hectic and stressful time, we can’t wait for this day to come by. Stay tuned. Bäm!
